Citrus Club Backstage
United Arts continues its partnership with Citrus Club Orlando with Citrus Club Backstage. This event gives attendees an opportunity for a behind the scenes look at various artistic disciplines. Food, drink and conversation come together while the guest artist of the month performs and offers some insight into their world as a professional artist in Central Florida.
Citrus Club Backstage happens the 2nd Thursday of each month, through October. Our next event will be on September 9 from 6 - 7:45 pm and will feature a musical theatre performance by Heather Alexander from The Winter Park Playhouse. Ms. Alexander will present excerpts from her one-woman show "I Was Born to Entertain." In addition to being the founder and Executive Director of the Winter Park Playhouse, Heather has performed locally at The Mark II Dinner Theatre and Mad Cow Theatre and has also been see in many commercial, industrial and television credits including co-host of The Florida Lottery’s Flamingo Fortune Game Show.

A.L.I.G.N.
A.L.I.G.N. was created as an opportunity for arts leaders in the seven-county region to discuss advocacy and awareness for the arts. This meeting occurs twice annually in order to develop a region-wide action plan to follow up on the myregion.org economic impact study and educate local arts organizations on how to speak and present to local government officials. Attendees represent local arts agencies and cultural organizations in Brevard, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Polk, Seminole and Volusia counties.
Our next event will take place on Friday, October 8, 2010 in The Cooper Memorial Library at Lake Sumpter Community College located at 2525 Oakley Seaver Drive, Clermont, FL 34711.
